WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT PROSECCO
POP the Prosecco!!
Here is a little bit about the stunning & bubbly Prosecco,
Prosecco is a sparkling white wine! Prosecco comes from Northeastern Italy and is their #1 sparkling wine. Conegliano Valdobbiadene is the home of the best Prosecco! Valdobbiadene is a wine growing province of Treviso, Veneto, Italy, just below the Alpine-Dolomite areas of Veneto. This area provides a cool climate for variety of grapes
THE PROSECCO GRAPE
Glera is the primary grape in Prosecco. It is possible to blend up to 15% of other indigenous grapes that grow in the region (like Bianchetta & Verdiso)
Prosecco’s tasting notes are of green apple, honeydew, pear & crusty bread. Prosecco is a super easy pairing with antipasto, cured meats, nuts like almonds and my favourite… spicy foods ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
SWEETNESS in Prosecco can differ, here are some examples:
⬇Brut: Lowest in residual sugar
↔Extra Dry: Medium level of sugar
⬆Dry: Highest in residual sugar⠀
Prosecco is made using the tank method, in high-tech fermentation tanks. During fermentation Co2 causes pressure in the tank and carbonizes the wine, resulting in a very fresh, young wine!
Unlike Champagne, where the sparkling process takes place in the bottle
Prosecco has always been a staple at my house and this bottle by @tenutasantome_official is our favourite! It is well balanced, fresh and pairs perfectly with a beautiful charcuterie board.
